The LA Phil is reinventing the concept of a 21st-century orchestra under the vibrant leadership of Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel. Among its wide-ranging education initiatives is the Composer Fellowship Program (CFP), that, with support from the Foundation, provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for high school-age composers to become a part of the LA Phil’s thriving new music community.
P.S. ARTS is dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing arts education to underserved public schools and communities. Support from the Foundation launched The Lawndale Initiative and Take PART which bring comprehensive arts education programs to communities throughout the Centinela Valley region, and now includes the following districts: Lawndale, Lennox, Centinela Valley Unified, Hawthorne, and Wiseburn Unified.
PEN Center USA’s mission is to stimulate and maintain interest in the written word and to foster a vital literary culture. Through its Freedom to Write programs PEN Center pursues the goals at the core of their mission — to support writers’ freedom of expression and to promote access to their writing globally.
Plaza de la Raza provides year-round programs in arts education and serves as an art center and school — fostering the enrichment of all cultures. Through the arts, Plaza provides a vital human resource service bridging the geographic, social, artistic, and cultural boundaries of Los Angeles and beyond.
reDiscover Center’s mission is to provide art, tinkering, and sustainability education through creative reuse to all Angelenos.
