Harmony Project

The Harmony Project’s mission is to promote the positive development of children through music, to build healthy communities, to develop children as ambassadors of peace, hope, and understanding. Since 2010, as part of the Take PART initiative, the Foundation has provided increased support to establish and maintain the Harmony Project Regional Youth Orchestra, which brings students together from the Lennox, Lawndale, and Wiseburn school districts and provides instruments, music instruction, and the opportunity to perform together as part of an orchestra.

Homeboy Industries

Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. Support from the Foundation has enabled Homeboys to sustain a range of arts education programs and build capacity of its social enterprises.

Community Arts Partnership (CAP) at CalArts

The CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP), a program of the California Institute of the Arts, links the Institute and the diverse communities of Los Angeles County through free, after-school, school-based, and summer arts programs for youth taught by current CalArts students, faculty, and alumni.

The Actors’ Gang creates and presents new, unconventional and uncompromising plays and dynamic reinterpretations of the classics; restores the ancient sense of the stage as a shared space; introduces theater to children and helps them find their own creative voices; and brings the freedom of self-expression to the incarcerated.

Broad Stage

The Broad Stage has an unequivocal commitment to supporting and entertaining a diverse community. With support from the Foundation, the Family Circle Program was launched to help remove barriers to arts attendance and participation for economically disadvantaged families living on the Westside. The program provides families with access and education, including tickets to performances and enrichment materials, to create their own lasting traditions of intergenerational artistic and cultural participation.
